That’s funny because aren’t you the guy that said not to worry about doing a recall or TSB unless you’re having the symptoms? You also implied that you should listen to the dealer because they know best.
How’s that working out for you?
Glad to hear it didn’t cause an accident.
I’m sure your truck is “not affected by the recall”, but you shouldn’t have a problem getting them to fix it. Your dashcam video will be all of the proof you need.
My point is brining attention to the fact that Ford’s build dates are incorrect and they’re denying repairs for trucks that have the potential for a serious incident. They told me the same story of my truck being “good”
I was sharing the info so others may choose to get their trucks repaired...
A broken rear window won’t cause you to be rear ended by an 18 wheeler.
My truck ran fine for 80k+ miles and then one day it went from cruising in 6th gear to being slammed into 1st and the rear tires locking up and the engine red lined.
Imagine being the car riding behind me. No brake...
“Affected build dates”. However, there’s no guarantee you’re good outside of these dates. Not trying to be chicken little, but my experience shows these dates are not accurate.
Vehicle Model Year Assembly Plant Build Dates

Dearborn February 11, 2011 through September...
My build date is 8/12 and I was told I was “good” too.
Chances are they will not fix it unless you tell them your truck had an unintentional downshift to 1st.
They gave me the same initial story.
I told them the truck almost caused a serious accident so they needed to fix it. I just had to push the issue and escalate it a bit.
The dealership even covered the rental car. That car (brand new focus) went into limp mode and died 1/4 mile away from...
It’s sad how they would try to take advantage of the owners who do not have that info
I can’t imagine having it downshift on a road that’s icy or covered in snow. It would make for a wild ride.
If your truck falls within the build dates included in this document, you will be covered if you let them know your truck downshifted to 1st. It seems like the build dates will be expanded in the near future (this was published in 2016)...
Both. They install a new lead frame and update the PCM.
This is a rare occasion when you won’t see any symptoms until your truck is locking up the rear tires at (potentially) highway speed.
My .02 is that anyone who is on the list now to have it fixed before it happens, no sense in...
It looks like our lead frame connector TSB may turn into a full blown recall soon.
Imagine cruising down the highway and then your truck downshifts to first gear without any warning. I was almost rear ended when it happened to me.
I’ve had several vehicles with recalls in the past, but...
All that trouble? That’s my point, there is no “trouble” when getting more power out of a turbo car. It’s a tune, maybe a methanol kit if you want even more power.
Either way both can easily be installed in a few hours in your driveway. Adds 100hp+ and 100ft lb +.
Considering that small...
