Any progress or updates/insights? I've got a 2013 and am looking at this very modification. Appreciate what you've shared so far as it has answered questions which no one was able or willing to speculate on or consider...always got a response that it wouldn't work, but no "why"...just armchair warrior stuff. Thanks for leading the way into a common sense and relatively inexpensive upgrade.
