Drain tubes on hard tonneau cover?

I bought a bakflip f1 and am preparing for the install....Have any of you skipped installing the drain tubes?
I have the factory drop in liner and dont want to drill into anything.

I did mine. Drilled a hole in the plastic bed cut outs. (do it on a bench).

Took like 2 ins each side. Tough choice on drilling into liner. See how much water collects and add them later if needed i guess.

drilled my gen 1 and this time around on my gen 2 didn't drill. Seems nice and dry.

I originally installed my bakflip F1 on my 12 F150 without the drain tubes because I didn't like the idea of drilling
through the rubber grommets in the front of the bed. I had had the bed Line-X color match bed sprayed. Water intrusion was an issue. Wasn't terrible, but more than I wanted. I finally bit the bullet and installed the drain tubes. No more water. The only place it ever got water in after I installed them was right at the tailgate bed step area and it was just a few drops. Before I installed the tubes water would get in at the front corners and along both sides of the bed. On the raptor I have gone to a toolbox, but have considered going back to a bakflip. If I do I will be installing the drain tubes.

Like everyone stated above pull the plastic plugs front the front of the bed and drill into them. If you ever want to remove the cover and replace the plugs they are like $5 each.

I just installed an MX4 and didn't bother with the drain tubes. I haven't driven through much weather yet, but I'll report back on how much water I see once I do.

I drilled mine in the same place as the above posts. No issue at all

Seems like there's no harm in installing the cover without the tubes. If you get water and want to install the drain tubes, I can provide you with measurements from the side of the bed for where the plugs are located.

Thanks for the offer....I will go ahead without the tubes and hope for the best...If I have water intrusion, the tubes can always get installed later.
