Below and to the right of the glove box. Right foot kick panel is where there at.

I started the wiring for my lightbar last night. I will say that connecting the wires under the dash is the worst part of the job. If only they had made them a couple of inches longer... Anyone have any tips / tricks to make this part of the job easier?

Other than shrinking a submarine with Raquel Welch in her skin tight scuba suit to the size of a human cell.....nope.

There is a video on the forums and YouTube that shows some tricks. One of them is to pry out some of the wire clips that snap into the truck using automotive clips. They make a special tool to pry these off ($10). Pry the clip out and move those wires out of the way. You gain about 1" of length to work with. When you're done, you just push the clips back into place.

Make NO mistake - there is NOTHING easy about this part of the install.

It is ridiculous that Ford made these so short.

Yeah you can cut some of the tape holding the bundle together to get a few more inches.

Do yourself a favor though, while your doing it do them all at once. I was in there 3 times, lol.

I personally do not recommend soldering the connections, unless you have child like hands. I used waterproof butt connectors and a wireless (butane) soldering iron to heat the shrink wrap ends of the connectors. It has an option of a very small blow torch flame.

I also cut the tape that holds the wires together and I did all four at the same time.
