Sorry. I'm in the minority. But don't get the hate. If you don't like the price then don't buy it!

My 2 closest dealers won't budge on 10k over, so I had to go an hour outside town to get a msrp deal. If I didn't get that then I would have not bought.

I think some on here need to read about supply and demand.

Regardless, I don't really have a problem with dealers charging whatever markup they like on their own inventory. I do, however, have a problem with them buying out lower priced inventory from across the country to corner their market and artificially inflate pricing. To follow your same analogy, this is more like wealthy investors purchasing all the property in a desirable neighborhood before it's even listed for sale and then reselling at significantly higher prices without making any material improvements.

This. I honestly do not have any issue with dealer marking up the price of a "limited" vehicle, but I do have an issue with dealer buying out local small dealers' allocations to unfairly inflate the price of the vehicle on the market. Worse is when a dealer has multiple stocks of said vehicles on the lot and still continue to purchase allocations.

Ken Grody, Carlsbad
As mentioned, +$25k with (4) on the lot

Encinitas Ford
+$25k with (2)

Mine on order at MSRP in Penn.....since Nov.

Seems to me dealers that can't get ADM are selling or trading to dealers who can.

Can't blame them, I support free enterprise. I just haven't been this excited for a new car in a long time.

Spoke with owner's son of SoCal dealer at social event on Saturday (won't mention dealer out of respect). He said he has purchased 6 trucks from other dealers for $8k over and sold them in his dealership.

Dealers are entitled to make a buck, this is capitalism after all, but when I see trucks sitting on lots for months and the dealer still acts like they are doing me a favor to sell it to me for $20-$25k over I have to throw the BS flag. Things are good for car dealers now, but if interest rates go up, the economy dips or gas prices rise... It'll be a buyers market. I'm in CA and all the usual suspects are on my list (Ken Grody...)

Just received this email from a dealer telling me there will be no 2018's:

Hey Scott,
as of right now I only have the white one left, we sold the black one Saturday. these things have been on our lot for no longer than 3 days because of how popular they are and limited production. there will not be a 2018 model raptor, due to the fact the F150 is getting a facelift again and when ford does a body refresh they wont come out with the limited production vehicles until the following year so they can see how people react to new stylings. And the other problem is that I can get you any color you want in a raptor, but dealers are selling them to other dealers for msrp, so I would be purchasing the truck at MSRP to turn around and sell which would in return raise the price for you over MSRP. The white one I have in stock is our truck so I can offer this one up for MSRP which isn't a bad deal since these things are technically going up in value recently with their popularity. we can always do a colored wrap on the truck in any color you want which alor of people do to these trucks anyways to go with the tough rugged façade these trucks have. so I guess let me know if you would want me to look into cost of a wrap for the truck and hopefully*work something out for you.*

I just don't like being lied to. In fact, I despise it. If this were a Porsche 918 or even an NFGT, I would obviously understand the ADM and would even pay it if the market required so. On those types of cars, there really is limited supply and the ADM is supported by a genuine market.

With the Raptor, the ADM is based upon a fictional story that Ford dealers are pitching you. They want you to believe that these are limited production, that there are no more allocations, that there will be no 2018's, etc. It's all false, and it's intended to artificially inflate the market. If you think it is fair for dealers to disseminate misinformation, then this must be your first bbq.

I am sure that Ford Motor company monitors the Ford Raptor Forum to some extent. They are getting real feedback from actual Raptor customers and from future potential customers. It is a personal choice whether you choose to pay ADM or not. Im sure Ford doesn't like the negative P.R that comes with the greedy Dealers stock piling Raptors and buying up other reasonable Ford Dealers inventory. I would not be surprised one bit if these dealers end up getting their hand slapped and are given reduced allocations in the future.
The reason I started this thread was to expose them, so that you don't bother wasting your time with them if you are in close to the msrp market. Also, if you don't mind paying ADM up to 25k-30k you now have a nice list to choose from where they are available now..
ADM is strictly your choice to pay / play now. The 18s are right around the corner, so I'm pretty sure things will be softening up shortly. With very little research and a couple tips from other members I have found 3 dealers that will sell their 2018s at MSRP. I have the mentally, I don't have to have it right now. Also, I am a firm believer that 2nd year releases will be more refined and have some of the minor bugs worked out. All this being said, if I could of gotten one of the first 2017 delivered in 2016 at 5k ADM, I would of done it. But lets face we are in' April now and 2017 are going be old news in a few months.

I'm starting to think I am either cheap or broke because I thought I'd wait out the the crazy markups until sales slowed and prices came down - but I saw 4 new trucks on the street today alone. I still can't bring myself to pay the premium - did the markups drop recently or something? (In SoCal anyway)

This topic cracks me up! LOL!!!

If you think any dealer gives two shit's that you "Called them out" you are delusional. :roflsquared:

...and it's unproductive.

Just use Raptorfinder.com and go find your truck. "Vote" with your dollars at another dealer and get on with enjoying your truck! :favorites13:

or continue to :beatdeadhorse5:
