i havent done enough research on it yet, will it hold .308?

Yes it would hold it. But I don't know how chambering a short action round in a long action stock would work. I'm not saying it wouldn't work but I don't want to be lying to you

Btw .308 would work with the stock, and is my caliber of chose for long guns, followed by the all purpose .30-.30..

A long action stock will not work on a short action gun. The action screw in front of the magazine well will not line up and you will not be able to secure the stock to the action.
