My rear pinion is leaking . Was wanting to know if anyone else has had this problem. I was wanting to know if taking out the plug and checking with you finger was still the way to check the level? ( How I did it in the 70's at my dad's service station) . Last question will it tell me when low or just lock up ? Thanks for any info.

Is it possible, you mean the rear differential cover is weeping/leaking? If so, it should be covered under the 3 year 36k warranty and the dealer should fix it. Just adding more in doesn't fix the leak. You would need to pull the cover and put RTV on it and reinstall.

I am hoping that you are left handed, in case we ever meet and shake hands.

Sticking your finger in a dark hole is always the answer

if you have a leaking rear end... ON YOUR TRUCK, take ‘er into the service department and avail yourself of the warranty coverage.
If it’s just a metaphor then I’m thinking you need a doctor specializing in gastrointestinal work.
