I'd skip the step. Not only do I not use it, but I nearly tore it up sliding an old radial arm saw off the TG. That thin plastic facing piece will catch on things easily.

I ordered the step on my 2020. What is the weight capacity of the tailgate step? I’m 6’5” and built like a lineman, weight is currently 320# but on the decline. Either way, my wife is 5’2” and will appreciate it.

I might change my mind in seven years, but I'd say if you're younger than 60 and fit, it's more trouble than it's worth.
