Monday, I found brand 21 Raptor in Leadfoot about hour from my shop, this Raptor was just a generic pic. Didn't think they actually had it, those who have been looking know what I'm talking about. Anyways, I took a drive down there and made a deal. I traded my 350 Tremor, they bought it sight unscene for $80,000, sticker 18 months ago was 82, it had 11,500 miles with title in hand.

Was working a deal in Houston and Dallas also, I'm in the KC area. All 3 were about 95K. Managed to get them down to 90. Unfortunately this Raptor did not have the beadlock rims, I previously had a 2020 Raptor in leadfoot also.

Anyways, on to the story.....

Picked up Tuesday night, drove about hour home and it was down shifting from 10th to 8 and bogging/shift flares.

Wednesday, I took to work, seem to drive better for the 1st 40 miles then it overheated, hit 275. It cooled down for the next 20 miles

Manged to get to my shop, it was spewing fluid. Put in my Rollback and dropped back at the dealership, burnt up transmission with a total of 190 miles on it. Picked it up with 10.

Dealer scanned it and it has overheat code and couple other ones waiting for rack to open up so they can look at it.

I've owned 17 SD's and one raptor since 99, never had a problem like this the worst I've ever done was blown an axle.

This dealer is eager to get my fleet business, let's see what they can do.

There is a known issue of the transmission hose being lose on the fitting from the factory, when they did the predelivery, the dealer may not have been thorough enough. Do they have a transmission in stock for you?

They putting in a "emergency order" for a new transmission.

Maybe next week, or June, who knows now a days.

Make sure you check for leaks yourself before you drive off the lot after the repair. Hope they pressure wash that nice and clean for you. Also, there's a thread in the Gen 3 section on what to look for when first getting your new raptor, the transmission hose is listed in that thread with pictures, it might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with that thread and bring up any concerns with your dealer since it will be sitting there for a bit anyway. If you can't find the thread let us know.
