Since the box is only 5.5' you can only write off 25k the first year and the rest in proportion for next few years. I owed 43k after trade in, wrote a check for 43k will have a tax savings of $8500 right away, then around $1500 for the next few years. For me it was just finding places I could stuff my money, there's only so many programs/funds you can keep uncle sam from getting it.

From my understanding the bed extender works to make it over 6'. Also if you have company stickers/vinyl on the vehicle it automatically applies as well.
