Yes because the 5.0L has no provisions for a power steering pump.

Just more to go wrong in the long run. Working for Volkswagen, I have had more power steering issues with 05.5 and newer Jetta. Something in the control module, which is part of the motor, which only comes as part of the rack, causes a $1800 once it goes bad. All the older models with hydraulic fluid never causes issues, other then low fluid. Hopefully Ford doesn't run into those problems.
