who has updated to SYNC3 VERSION 3.0 ?

I've had nothing but issues since I've updated to the Sync 3 3.0 update. I always plug my iPhone into the usb cable so I can stay fully charged and get the benefit of the phone and messaging. Maps suck, the Ford navigation screen is much better (MPH shown and pinch zoom.) 99% of the time I have Waze up.

First every time Waze spoke something I would hear it on my truck speakers and then the truck Sync 3 screen would stay on the Sources screen and no music. I'd have to push Sirius and then I'm back to listening to music. A few minutes later, roadkill or car stopped on road and back to no music and the screen says sources. Arrg.

I played around with Waze and the Sync settings but don't remember changing anything. Carplay is on btw. Now over the last two days it seems to be working fine, the music starts back up and the screen reverts or stays on the Sirius screen.

Since that is now "fixed" I found another issue. Each time I press my iphone to change the app for a second, the Sync screen goes into sources again and I have to repress Sirius.

This didn't happen with the older Sync 3 2.3 version. Anyone else having similar issues? What is the best place to report or discuss these issues? Over on F150 forum which gets more traffic or find an official Ford Forum?

Whoever designs these systems must not use them!

I left it in there for 5 minutes. After that, it finally says "Updating System Software..."

The design and responsiveness of Sync in this situation is pretty horrid.

During that 5 minutes, it's doing something with the files on the drive. The problem is the update process gives you zero indication about that. I only know because I could see the little LED light on the drive flashing quickly during that time, which means there's file I/O in progress.

Just get VirtualBox and set up a windows virtual machine.

Thanks for the idea, i tried bootcamp and it sucked. Im now running windows 10 on virtual machine, currently updating, awesome!

And while im updating i see another poster reporting how version 3 sucks great lol

I had some issues going with the official Ford 18025 download, I had previously installed Sync 3.0 Build 17194 and the update just wouldn't take. So I got the unofficial version of the 10825 build and installed it with no issues. But now I unable confirm the install through the Ford site. Does anyone know what the XML confirmation file looks like? I'd like to create one and upload it, so the sync version on Ford site is up to date and instead of saying "awaiting confirmation". Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have noticed Nav tends to freeze up when you scroll through a list of Favorites , intending to select a Destination. Actually, Sync 3 lockups up entirely for about 60 seconds.

this is 1.0 to 2.2 - should apply right over everything... let it shutdown and reboot a few times, let it do it's thing... maybe do a hard reset too

So I updated to 3.0 couple weeks ago with no problems, today I got a message on the screen that I had a update, downloading JR3T-14G391-CD_103672.tar.gz
Has anyone else seen this?

Got the same thing today!

Just received my second automatic ford update since uploading to 3.0 18025 with a flashdrive on 3/10. On 3/17 I received an auto update complete message and then today 3/24 when I turned truck on it started downloading an update. The update is different than the one I installed with flashdrive (JR3T-14G381) this update is JR3T-14G391 (see pic). I checked owner.ford and both wifi updates are listed. My flashdrive upload is not.

Took about 20min to complete, I opened my hood so the truck won’t turn off also shifted the car to drive and back to park periodically, truck must stay on to complete according to what I read.
