On another forum im on there was a member that bought his 1yr old son a Blue Step 2 Raptor to match his real life Raptor. He posted some pictures of it and I thought it was the coolest thing. Off to Amazon I went, I had to get one for my son(8.5Months) for Christmas. While unboxing it, the mod but bite, HARD! I started getting all kinds of ideas of stuff to do. So at this point I couldn’t put anything together because for some of the ideas I needed it in pieces. So I went inside and started ordering parts.
The chrome wheels were the first thing that had to go. So I got some Dark Shadow Grey Paint, prepped and painted them. I also added a red sticker behind the "rim" to make it look like it had brake calipers. My wife seriously thinks im going crazy!
Stock this truck comes with LED grill lights like that real truck, but there white and not amber. So I called my old man up (Expect Model Builder) and told him I wanted to replace the LED with amber ones. I took the circuit board apart and gave it to him to swap the LED out. Well he ended up just painting the white LED with a amber paint. They look great!
I then had some 6.2L emblems made that I put on the doors to match the real Raptor.
And of course I had to add the red stripe on the steering wheels.
My personal favorite mod I think came out freaking awesome. I had my dad do the install, just because he has the magic touch with getting stuff perfect when it comes to things like this. I bought some 20MM Projector LED Headlights and installed them where the projector of the HID sticker was. And you cant have a Raptor without a set of Rigid Duallys, Right? So I got some 7mm LED Lights for that!
The dash of this truck had stickers for the cluster. There was a push to start button printed on it. So I got a switch and that’s where the switch is mounted for the Headlights and Fogs.
Lights Off!
Lights On
My dad also had a sticker made up to look like a real Louisiana license plate.
Finally was the Roush Performance Catback
Finished
There is one more sticker I may have made tomorrow and it will be completely finished for Christmas. And when I say finished I mean for now
So what yall think?
