Default TPMS Issue
SO I have been searing for this and can't find any solutions. About a month ago I got new wheels and tires for the Raptor. I went with 20" wheels and larger tires that require higher PSI (60). I got new sensors with the new tires and I had them programmed (learned) to the truck, using the Ford tool I have and I also had it done at a local Firestone shop as well. The truck says that the learning is complete but the light keeps coming on and staying on every time I start the truck. All of my tires are at 60 PSI, so I can't figure out what the issue here is. Any ideas? I am way out of warranty, so I was trying to avoid a trip to the dealer.

Have you actually changed the PSI setting in addition to learning the new TMPS? Stock is 44, so I would imagine that 60 would piss it off. Only way I know to do that is with my tuner, but I'm guessing there are other ways.

This^^^ The TPMS will throw a warning light with too high pressure as well as too low pressure. They need to be programmed to 60psi so that everything stays within specs and doesn't throw the light unless you have an issue.

I was just thinking about that myself. 20's with tires that have 60psi, I would imagine that the ride quality would be harsh.

Exactly. Plus I'm thinking he's reading the maximum psi off the sidewall.

Yeah, if running the max pressure, then the OP will want to reduce that a bit. That will wear out the center tread of tires quickly while also providing a rough ride.

Thanks for the replies. They are the new LT325/60R-20 BFGOODRICH ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO2E. 60 is what the shop put them at. I have not actually looked at the rating on them. It is a harsher ride, I actually should let some out. I did not change the PSI baseline as I was not sure how to do that. Research had showed that a dealer needs to do it but many would not. I was just trying to see if this was a common issue or if I should just take it to the dealer. Should I try going down to close to stock PSI and see if the light goes off. Thanks for the quick replies!

I would go down to about 45psi myself. That would improve the ride, tread wear and possibly get the light to go off.

You actually don't have a problem then. The TPMS is working properly...

I think a dealer can, but a tuner will too - though I'm unconvinced you should be running so high. It WILL go off if you down to ~44psi. Is that the right pressure for your tires? I dunno.

Also, that comes out to a 35.5" tire. Is that going to rub? I don't know the answer, but it's my understanding that about anything larger than stock runs the risk.
