I ripped the tag off my bed mattress too. I’m a rebel! I’m not a warranty expert but my understanding is it CAN void your warranty. A couple of caveats. The presence of the tune would have to be reasonably a contributor to the failure. Example a broken sunroof clip couldn’t be attributed to a tune so that couldn’t be denied. Secondly they have to find the tune. I always return my truck to stock well before any repairs. I don’t have any gauges running or anything to indicate there is a tune. I have read here that the dealer would be able to find the tune because if they looked hard enough they would see that my truck has 35k miles but only 25 starts in the ecu leading them to believe something is going on. Reality is it’s a risk. I purchased 7yr/100k ESP showing I’m not too concerned about it yet it’s in the back of my mind anytime I take it in. I wouldn’t purchase any tune that didn’t allow the truck to be put back into stock programming prior to taking it in. I have had the oil pan resealed (plastic during my year) and the Cam Phasers replace which is a big job including the PCM reprogram as mentioned. I feel pretty good about continuing with the tune on the truck using my return to stock methodology. Drivability and enjoyment of the truck is so much better with the tune I can’t describe it. Not exaggerating when I say I dislike driving it without the tune on. Using the truck in stock form to me is like clocking in and out of a job just trying to get the start cycles built up. As previously said; I’m not a gear head that messes with everything they have but the tune for this truck was to compelling for the price for me. I’m so glad I did it.
