I agree. Junk and needless to have this many gears. I have owned 3 brand new vehicles with 8+ speed transmissions (2015 Lexus, 2017 Dodge and 2019 Ford). They are all jerky and clunky in "sport" mode. The Dodge and Ford both clunk in "normal" mode at specific gears when decelerating, but not all the time. The Dodge clunked when I decelerated at 5th and 4th and the Ford clunks at 4th and 3rd. Since they all seem to do it, "clunky and crappy transmission shifting" is now the new "super smooth ECT transmissions!". Like someone said before on this forum: if we keep buying the crap, they'll keep making it. I too have the "cold acceleration issue". Sept 2019 build. I thought I imagined it until it happened again. Trans/engine after sitting for a few hours, drive off in "normal" mode then the truck seems to rapidly slow while my body continues forward for a second then continues on. Only does it once when cool/cold. I noticed it once in the morning after the truck sat over night. It did it after I let the car warm up for a few minutes that morning (I remote started it thinking "hey warming it up for a few will be good!"). When I don't let it warm up (as in, I just start it, let the idle drop and go) it doesn't seem to do it. I've just accepted the fact that this new level of poor performance has to be "learned" by us owners and we need to figure out how to work around these issues and live with them. Isn't it funny? For all of you who have worked on cars and trucks through the decades like I have: we went from mechanical carbs and pumps to make the vehicle beautifully operate when cold to digital computer CRAP that... wait for it... STILL RUNS LIKE SH*T when cold! Amazing...
