[QUOTE="jondle, post: 1609415, member: 2598"] I've been all over the big island and there just isn't a ton of high speed off-roading to do. I'm in the camp that speaks out vehemently against lifting a Raptor, but on Hawaii....maybe it isn't so bad. There just isn't a ton of space to be sliding sideways at speed, maybe up towards the top of Mauna Kea.?.? So the height vs. width isn't as big of a deal as it most other places. If you want, I'm 99% certain you could remove that lift. You would have to weld the frame back together and possibly reinforced in some way where it was cut, but it is just steel. It can be cut and welded. Find a good welder and trade him weed, you'll be fine. :) Personally, I would shy away from trying to get factory shocks of any year to work with the lift. They are pre-tuned for a very specific application. As I believe Corona mentioned, save up and get custom shocks for the application, with proper stoke length. (i just wanted to say stroke length) That way you can adjust preload, dampening, and rebound to suit the new geometry of the truck. I love Raptor Retrofit's work. It looks beautiful. He used to frequent these parts, but I don't recall seeing him lately. I could be speaking out of turn, but from a pure functional standpoint, I think you can get more light out of LED bulbs these days instead of HID. They certainly cost a lot less and come with less risk of a fire. If you are looking for the aesthetics, which I certainly understand, you can't beat the custom retrofit. Whatever you decide...pics or it's a Prius. My wife lived in Waikoloa, working at the Hilton/Dolphin Quest there, for a while back when we were dating and we still have friends there we visit from time to time. Definitely my favorite island.
