I've always been a fan of the BFG A/T KO. I've had 'em on a dozen or more off-road trucks and Jeeps over the past 20+ years and have never been let down. When I saw the Raptor came with them, it was one less thing I had to change. However, I do a lot of general off-roading - nothing specific. For instance, I'm on dirt and gravel roads, crossing small streams, occasional sand driving on the beach, some light mud here and there, light snow and general dry and wet pavement on my commutes to the office. The BFG A/T does a lot of things well, but is not remarkable at any one particular thing. If I did a very specific type of off-roading, I would consider a specific type of tire. For instance if I went mudding every weekend, I would get a mud tire, like a Toyo M/T. If I spent my weekends in the desert or the beach, I would get a good sand tire like a BFG Baja or General Grabber. Since I don't off-road anywhere specific, I prefer my BFG A/T KO. If I were forced to change, the only tire I would consider would be the BFG A/T KO2 (version 2) that was just released a few months ago. However, I don't think they make it in a 35/12.50 R17 size yet. Just be careful what you wish for. The mud terrain tires have a wonderfully aggressive look to them, but they are expensive and loud. Unless you really need and use them often, I think you will be disappointed in the long-run. A milder A/T might be a better option for the occasional off-road excursion. If you're looking for an aggressive sidewall, there are other A/T patterns with aggressive sidewalls, but that ride smoother and aren't as loud as they wear. Look at Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ, Goodyear Duratrac and ProComp Extreme A/T tires. Good luck.
