Parking then truck sways back and forth

not 100% sure if normal but I can confirm my 2020 can rock pretty easily back and forth in the garage when parked (without parking break applied). There is also a considerable degree of free rotation in the driveshafts both front and rear. I noticed this when replacing my front diff pinion seal.

Sync forgetting things and making me insane

went through this myself, was doing this for the last few months so I decided to take care of it. first of all the last thing I was going to do is allow the dealership just to swap apim module and not have an actual reason other than saying its a bad apim. They arent cheap, I'm covered with...

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

Of course they have a target it’s locked at startup, you think they are only off a few degrees as they slap back and forth more than 30 degrees? The code shows up over a period of time if it’s off but not like you just made it out. Most of the phaser replacements have 0 vct codes.

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

your reading comprehension is so terrible its no use with you....never did I say it does nothing, said it band aids it, which it does. The part will continue to fail those who had the programming done and you can keep coming on here explaining to the ones failing pre 11/19 as to why they are...

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

    1. theory is that they wasted tens of millions of dollars on a recall that does nothing?......the money spent on reprogramming is cheaper than the alternative of going ahead and replacing the part. again to save them money. 2. Monitoring VCT_ACT and VCTDC PIDs in IDS........literally will vary...

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

They take the valve covers off so it’s literally a 2 min job at that point to replace the plugs, really should be able to negotiate the cost of the plugs. your literally on a data point thread. You’re the one with 0 actual evidence of software being the issue and not the part. Show us what...

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

Baseless…yet there are so many examples of the pre 11/19 phasers still going bad after the “band aid” programming update. Mechanical wear doesn’t happen overnight, and sure programming can cause premature wear but all vvt phasers fail in the same way, this was just bad parts, the programming...

    GEN 2 Correct replacement phasers

Yeah there’s some on here that still believe it was the software causing premature failure and because of pride are too arrogant to believe the mechanical update is the fix. Software was a bandaid just my 2 cents carry on.

I’m not googling anything and you assume I have no experience… I can show you phasers I’ve replaced for trucks out of warranty, compared to the new part if you would like. Funny how you just said incorrect info again for everyone, my personal truck number 1/2020 has the phasers with the covered...

you literally are the definition of backtracking and circling lol, "with the exception being the design change to the locking pin cavity", literally makes the parts different. There was also a design change along the way with the cover over the mechanical spring. your right even though its not...

"VCT duty cycle is controlled by the PCM calibration. Even if the new calibration required a change to the oil pump strategy for additional volume to support a higher phaser duty cycle, it’s still completely unrelated to the root cause." Im not the one double backing, a vct is a mechanical...

the original post was a recommendation post, i recommeded a later build due to the upgraded phasers, solely just one reason, but it is a reason and my personal. I also gave my opinion on why the old style phasers and recall is a band aid.. there's your answer. anything else you want to know...

Lol I certainly know how a phaser operates, I’m just really interested in you exposing how the duty cycles have nothing to do with oil pressure programming. Hard to do when they indeed work on what…

@FordTechOne how does 21B10 have nothing to do with oil pressure when literally diagnosis of eligibility for 21b10 has tech disconnect the variable oil pump sensor? can you provide us any data on your claim of it only effects the duty cycles of the phasers?

Geeze that about the most simplistic answer for a tech ever. Either ford has verse trained you well or your actually telling us there is no wear to the cavity without noise. Sorry that’s not how it works the cavity could be worn and still allow for locking which would be noiseless. You hold a...

Prospective Buyer - need some advice

In your case…you just said previously that the example could have had wear before the recall, doesn’t mean it was making sound either. That cavity could have worn prior but not enough to make the noise and allow pin to still lock. In your case it could have as well, only way to really know is...

Prospective Buyer - need some advice

There is no mention of reprogramming for 21b10 when replacing the phasers. Just curious why it would be hard for you to say on here that the new design phaser is a better choice. Would you replace your phasers with the old style? Did your truck have 21b10 from the beginning? How do you know...

Prospective Buyer - need some advice

Not sure how to make it any clearer my point is there is an updated hardware that’s been out since 11/2019 that hasn’t been an issue. Why would you want the one that had known issues that had to be fixed with software. Do they not reverse the programing back to the original duty cycles when...

I would like to agree but when you have dealers making tik toks of 5 trucks cold starting with failed phasers and Ford issuing extended warranties prorated its not just a internet buzz. I would agree that there is little to no said claims to any 11/2019 and later builds with the updated phasers...
