That is actually kind of funny. Mainly because the later Taurus has a similar engine to the new raptor. I have yet to see a Taurus with the 6.2 in it!
As for looks I like them both but the 2017+ do look somewhat better IMO. Its a shame they sound like a "boring-ass" company car.
Ironically "Fast lane truck" disagrees as well...
This guy thinks exactly the same as I do. Except he is running a NA Raptor in this test.

I like the new Raptor, I love its looks, its options, and its stock horsepower. But I love a...
No idea who you are all talking about but I am not the person you think I am. As for the girl in the blue dress (my wife) she also agrees that she liked the V8 Raptor better after driving both.. Sound and power had us both sold! In fact she drives it to work quite often she likes it so much...
Because I actually increased in MPG going to the 6.2 which I found ironic. My 3.5 Eco was not reliable and drank fuel like a semi 11-12 mpg (yes I know semi's get worse than this). Way worse when towing heavy. No idea why it just did. Never expected to average better mileage when I purchased my...
I hear you there. Ford had been dragging their feet more than I have ever seen. The GT500 release has been dragging along at a snails pace. The 7.0 as well. I think we should see the release of both by the auto shows next spring (fingers crossed).
Those 18 and 19 GT 5.0 mustangs are sure...
I'll keep this simple for you because maybe it didn't sink in above:
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0
Boosted...
LOL YES! SOOO MAD! LOL
Nice try to put a spin on it.
Boosted 6.2 until I can buy a boosted 7.0

Oh god. Now we have a guy throw his money sack (or just sack) out there to...
I still say I could care less about the MPG. I simply do not drive enough miles on it for it to matter. If you educated yourself you would know that a boosted 6.2 with a good tune will still get 13-14 mpg all day long on highway. My point was you said "great". Nobody buys a Raptor for great MPG...
Were you ever able to figure this out? I am only getting 7-7.5 at sea level with my 72mm pulley as well (800 ft elevation). Not sure if I have belt slippage or another issue. Runs strong but I want to make sure I am making proper boost.
I didn't know this was even an option. I was more so looking for replacement stronger axles in the stock housing. But this may be the route I have to go.
Haha. Butt-hurt is Strong...
I'm not sure why everyone is 6.2 vs 3.5 so much. Buy what works for you. For me I wanted Horsepower, sound, and sheer grunt. Mileage is really not a concern of mine as any crew cab truck with 35's truck does not get "great" mileage. 3-4 mpg better if you drive...
My boosted 6.2 is more than getting the job done until then!
Had a standard eco f150 and grenaded 2 engines in 60k miles. (lost some faith in them) Also had horrible mpg. Went to dealer and drove 2014 Roush Rap and 2017 Eco Rap. Liked the Roush more so I bought it.
Does anyone make stronger aftermarket axles for these trucks? I broke the right rear one a month back or so. I would like to replace them both with better ones before I snap another!
When / if the 7.0 comes out and it is direct and port injected as they say it will be the 3.5 Eco Raptors price will tank. A direct injected large V8 will be out of control. Boost will make it even better!
Until then I'm sticking with the 6.2!
