You quoted my post, so I assume you are asking me that question, but I don't understand the question. Count for what? T!

    2018 Cam Phaser Fear

I thought it was in late Feb, 2018 they made the switch, so before mid production year. For sure my March 2018 has the metal pan. But yeah, if this is a 2017 production 2018 model it would have plastic. T!

When you saw me I was on my way to basically the same area ya'll had covered, at least part of it, the south Panamint, Goler Canyon, and Keysight area. T!

Death Valley, Barker (Manson)Ranch and Trona

HF, 3.5 to 30 MHz, all inclusive (ham band only transmit...of course ;) ). I can do 160 meters if I really want it, but the antenna efficiency is in the toilet on that band, works, but not great. CB. Ham VHF / UHF bands 6M, 2M, 70 cm, also 23 cm, but that antenna is not up in that picture...

Death Valley, Barker (Manson)Ranch and Trona

Were ya'll heading out, up (southbound, up the hill) Trona Road out of Poison Canyon towards Highway 395, about 6 PM on Sunday? Looks like a group I saw and waved at (in my 2018 blue SCREW) about that time, I was at a cross street stop sign. I would have been in this: T!

    C vs E rated tires

It sounds like mine may be a minority opinion, but I did exactly what you are asking and while I found there was a very slight ride quality reduction and noise increase, it was very small and no issue at all. The over the road ride quality of the Raptor is one of the daily things I like best...

GEN 1 Raptor leak in rear of cab?

Not a Raptor specifically, but a buddy of mine has a F-150 SCREW that had a similar wet carpet issue. Turned out that behind the rear seat, on the back wall of the cab, there are two vents to the outside, these relieve air pressure when you close the doors. These vents are really just slatted...

Off road focused GPS with topo maps options?

I am off road pretty much weekly, and in areas of no cell coverage for hours at a time almost every weekend. I do tend to repeat areas, once I have hit an area I go back, so once the data is DLed I would have it. But really leaning away form a connected answer and towards a dedicated, works...

Achieved 17.4 MPH today on 2.5 hour trip through mountains

At the 17.5 or at the 23-25? The 17.5 seems fine, the 23-25 seems a little good to me. On the other hand, if he is going by the indicated and has not calibrated it, maybe. Prior to calibrating my MPG indications (using the Engineering mode) I showed 22 or a bit over on several occasions. I...

Achieved 17.4 MPH today on 2.5 hour trip through mountains

^^^^^this, absolutely. Calibration using the Engineering mode is the way to go. I did it a couple years ago to my 2018 and now it is typically accurate to +/- 0.1 MPG. Prior to that I was often over 1.5 MPG off. Today I can typically go in with a quarter tank showing (3/4 empty), and using...

    Sunroof Exploded

My 2018 802A has the tech package and no sunroof, just the way I wanted it. The dealer I got it from had 2 in that configuration. He also had a couple with sunroof, but he always tries to keep one in stock without. His claim was that the people who wanted to use them off road are less likely...

    2020 Raptor prices sky rocketing???

In general the further east and south you go, until you get to FL, the less expensive the trucks tend to be. When I bought my early 2018 in California the truck had a, no kidding, $25k dealer markup on the sticker, the window sticker was $95,300 for a $70k MSRP and optioned truck. No, I did...

Off road focused GPS with topo maps options?

Any particular model? Any particular features or options to be sure to include? Have you used them and have they held up well to off-road use? T!

Off road focused GPS with topo maps options?

The recent Bronco buzz showed that Ford appears to be bringing a off-road oriented GPS to the Bronco, including topographic maps. I would think it likely that the Raptor will end up with a similar system. However, that does not help me now. I have always considered the lack of a topo mapped...

GEN 2 Engine starts and stops right away

It is all in how you drive it and under what conditions. I have gotten 18+ combined for several extended periods. On road trips with mostly highway miles I have gotten high 19's, even the occasional 20+ for a tank. However, when I drive it like I enjoy I get more like 14 or so, and have...

GEN 2 Engine starts and stops right away

My take on this, and I freely admit my take is nothing but a guess. To me it sounds like you were down to less than 10 gallons in the truck when you parked it. It saying you had 98 miles DTE on parking, what is your average MPG? For me 98 miles DTE would be in on the order of 7 or 8 gallons...

    Raptor Owners stick together

I recognize what you are saying in the last sentence, but as for the statement that the Raptor is not practical, I don't agree. With regards to an STX with hand crank windows, then the ride will not be as good, the comfort level will not be as good, you will have saved a minor amount of gas...

GEN 2 Tyre rotation and TPMS sensor

@FordTechOne has already acknowledged that this technique may not be needed today. It appears the manual may be referencing older vehicles, and has not been brought up to date. For sure, you CAN do the technique listed on todays trucks (I did it this past week on a couple of my 2020 company...

GEN 2 Tyre rotation and TPMS sensor

What pressure is it showing? If it is below a certain point (I think 31 PSI?) it will show as bad, even though you know it is good. With Fordscan you can go in and rest this trouble point to a lower level. I know when I air down for sand the trouble indicator is on the entire time. T!

    Hot off the presses

Yes, I did puncture the OEM load range C tires, several times. I don’t remember exactly how many times it was, more than three for sure, and I do not count near end of life since many tires become more susceptible when well worn. Under the same conditions so far I have punctured the new tires...

    Hot off the presses

I can say for sure my E load KO2s are lasting about twice as long, under identical driving / loading conditions, as the original C load range KO2s did. Why I am not sure, but it is for sure happening for my application. I run similar inflation (36F / 33R) in these tires as the last (I think I...

GEN 2 Tyre rotation and TPMS sensor

I have a few guesses on this, all very much just guesses. The following is the route I would look into first if I was putting together a system to do this. One potential answer is a TPMS sensor at each wheel location. But you would think that would be clear in the manual, and that would...

GEN 2 Tyre rotation and TPMS sensor

@FordTechOne, you have brought some very good information to this forum, I have learned a lot from your past posts, but for whatever reason this time, at least in the case of my specific 2018 Raptor Crew Cab, you are not correct. Could the manual be addressing a differently optioned truck? I...

GEN 2 Tyre rotation and TPMS sensor

@FordTechOne, that process you quote may well be in the manual, and it has been quoted several times before in these forums, but I can guarantee you that I have never done it in my 2018 802A / Tech SCREW, and my truck knows where each tire is. I have well over 50,000 miles on my truck, I rotate...

    DIY Tire Rotation (TPMS problems?)

Jack stands to get all 4 wheels off the ground at the same time. I rotate the tires every oil change, and I do oil changes a bit more frequent than necessary, I shoot for 3000 miles but sometimes push to 4500 or so. I realize this is more often than needed, especially with synthetic, but it is...
