I encountered this same issue the other day coming home from a long road trip. Mine is a 2017 with 48k. I've got an appt with my local dealer this week, but of course I haven't been able to replicate since calling.
Took possession of my '17 Scab April 2018. Only issue has been frozen door locks, which were replaced under recall. Added Icon bumpstops for trip to Moab. 43k miles, KO2s replaced at 38k. 30% off-road. LOVE my '17.
I'm @ 40k miles and my KO2s are gonna need replacing at my next service in 5k. I'm 20% offroad & drive in the PNW, so I'm looking at either the Cooper AT3 XLT or ST Maxx.
I ordered my '17 with a moonroof and open it ALOT! No issues after 38k miles. Although, it's a Scab, so I just have the single, not the double pano roof. #my2cents
Welcome!! Sign up for Raptor Assault School if you can! Awesome day learning the nuances & capabilities of your truck using Ford Performance Raptors!! It's a free day of training for one original owner. ..just have to get there! Absolutely the most fun I've ever had & was grinning all day!
The bar sandwiches on top of the tow hooks. Not sure about your lower grill light interference, but the license plate should be just fine. I stainless steel zip tied my plate to the lower bar so I can still be legal, but easily remove when off roading!
I like your choice as I have the same kit from John as well. Easy mounting system. Interferes a bit with the front camera, but not enough to be a concern for me.
Jeesh, why have a moon roof if you're never gonna open it?!? I ordered my '17 SCAB with the moon roof & drive with it open almost every day! 29k & no issues so far, but maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.
There are pins that lock it into place at the base on the sides of the bed when folded inside. It's a pretty solid plastic so you have to open the tonneau cover (I have the tri fold OEM) and it's just a lift up and over by pivoting on the sides of the bed. But, you can separate in the middle...
I love the OEM one-not only does it pivot either way, (when together inside the tailgate, it's great for keeping groceries, etc. from sliding around) it folds flat-ish against the bed sides when not in use.
I ordered my 2017 SCAB with the applique & think it looks way better than those with the blue badge which seems out of place, especially on red IMO. I also have the tailgate step & bed extenders which I use all the time. The extenders are great for keeping groceries & other items from sliding...
Thanks, sozzy12. Appreciate your perspective....bummed at the result. Might need to buy a beat up jeep to have some fun in W. Wa. Oh well, off to Ram Offroad Park in CO Springs mid Sept.
I've been looking into going to an event with Raptor Takeover events in Utah and also a Baha trip through Expeditionxoffroad. I'm up in Bellingham, but I would be totally into getting together for a local Raptor event!
I was up hiking near Mowich Lake outside of Buckley/Wilkenson in the Mt. Rainier National Park yesterday and ran across an offroad park called Evans Creek. Pulled in for a minute to scope the entrance and it looks wide enough for my Raptor, but didn't have time to explore fully as I had a long...
