I gave up. No one has the answer. My aftermarket installers insist their items do not draw once the ignition is off, and there at 10,000 things that could be Ford and only 3 aftermarket items... do the math. Ford says its not us....
I installed an onboard battery charger/minder. When I park it...
I have always had the top of the line built-in Escorts in my previous vehicles - but the new Max Ci360 is just too expensive. I went with the K40 360 (not cheap either) in my 2018 Raptor - and I am very happy with it.
Thank you all for the input. Definitely seems like there is something going on that no one (Ford included) has put their finger on.
It dawned on me this morning - what I should have done yesterday when the tow truck guy was here - was have him check the status of the battery BEFORE he jumped...
I guess the problem is I'm not sure I did have a dead battery... As downforce137 suggested maybe it was actually that the truck was stuck in the dreaded Deep Sleep mode... and the jump/battery charger woke it up...
Seriously - has no one gone through this? I mean we can keep discussing this...
So what do folks think... some seem to think we "overthought" a simple dead battery believing it to be one of those "Deep Sleep" failure to wake up cases where the truck does not want to wake up despite having a full charge.
Others think it was in fact the deep sleep issue that was solved by...
Got an important lesson in the Deep Sleep Mode problem today... quite aggravating for a while.
I have been out of town for 2 weeks. At about the 10 day point I got a FordPass message stating my Raptor went into "Deep Sleep Mode".
Didn't think much about it... figured when I got home it...
They didn’t include it in my 2018.... I had to add it (well, first I had to convince the dealer such an option actually existed... then they ordered and installed it).
I just picked up a 2018 Raptor. I had a locking gun vault in my old F150 that simply screwed into the base of the center console. The screws are fairly short - about 1 inch long. The gun vault was for that model year - but it fits inside the 2018 Raptor console perfectly. I am concerned about...
Just picked up a 2018 Raptor today... was planning on ordering one and stopped in to my local dealer to discuss... and low and behold they just took delivery of exactly what I was looking for... traded in my F150 Lariat and drove home the Race Red 2018 Raptor... could not be happier.
