Yes, that is exactly what I did. I switched to Motorcraft fully synthetic 5w-20 at the first oil change and used a new stock Ford factory oil filter with each oil change.

I'm really surprised at the lack of tie down areas. Your solution looks very useful and the installation looks like it could have come from the factory like that. Very nice.
I have not heard of anyone having this issue.
Is the truck on level ground? Did you start the truck after adding oil to let it circulate for a minute and then recheck the oil level?
I went with what Ford recommends. As lomg as I'm under warranty, I will stick with Ford fluids for the transmission. I don't have any issues or complaints after the flush, so I don't see a reason to use anything else.
I had my transmission flushed at 22k miles. I didn't need to do it, but I figured it would be good to have it done to get any wear metals that might be in the oil. My trans wasn't shifting hard before i had it done, but when cold, you could feel the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts more than I liked at...
I got another analysis done. I was planning on doing a 5k mile oil change interval this time, but I had a long trip for work coming up and wasn't sure when the next time I would be able to change it would be, so I changed it early. Nothing exciting in the report... which is good I guess. I'll...
I went ahead and sent Blackstone Labs an email regarding the size of their database. This is the response...
Thanks for the e-mail. Our entire database contains over 500,000 samples, though we are kind of light on the Ford 6.2L since it is so new. Right now, we only have 16 samples in the...
If you want to know how big their database is, I would email them. They seem to be really good about taking care of their customers. They appear to be a fairly popular source for oil analysis, so I would like to think that they have a decent sized database, although I'm sure it takes time to...
I've been looking at that stuff for a while now. Did you apply it yourself or have a professional detailer do it? It doesn't look very difficult to apply, but I would want to make sure any paint correction needed is done before it's applied.
I just had to convince my company president that it would make a perfect work truck. After my initial down payment, the amount the company pays me to use my truck for work more than covers my monthly payment... and they cover fuel... and maintenance.
I can't complain.
You can get a free test kit from Blackstone Labs. It costs $25 if you do a single test. Or you can buy in bulk (I bought a 6 pack) and they cost $19 each. You can also choose to pay for your shipping in advance ($2.29 for postage), so the packages come ready to drop in the mail when you're...
