Unfortunately, I sold the truck. All of the samples I've done are already posted in this thread.

Yes, that is exactly what I did. I switched to Motorcraft fully synthetic 5w-20 at the first oil change and used a new stock Ford factory oil filter with each oil change.

FS: 2011 SuperCrew in SoCal - $46k obo

reduced to $45,500 obo I've had lots of calls and lowballs, but no serious offers yet. I'd rather sell it to an enthusiast than sell it to a dealer.

    Bed Tie Down

I'm really surprised at the lack of tie down areas. Your solution looks very useful and the installation looks like it could have come from the factory like that. Very nice.

Scottwax is the man. I use Opti Seal because of him and couldn't be happier.

How many quarts does it really take?

I have not heard of anyone having this issue. Is the truck on level ground? Did you start the truck after adding oil to let it circulate for a minute and then recheck the oil level?

Oil Analysis thread (post yours up!)

I tried to slowly increase the intervals each oil change. I still have it analyzed each change regardless of the interval.

    Service after 15,000 miles

I went with what Ford recommends. As lomg as I'm under warranty, I will stick with Ford fluids for the transmission. I don't have any issues or complaints after the flush, so I don't see a reason to use anything else.

    Service after 15,000 miles

I had my transmission flushed at 22k miles. I didn't need to do it, but I figured it would be good to have it done to get any wear metals that might be in the oil. My trans wasn't shifting hard before i had it done, but when cold, you could feel the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts more than I liked at...

+1 Check the book that comes with your owners manual. Mine had a little note in there saying it was selected for extensive testing.

Oil Analysis thread (post yours up!)

I got another analysis done. I was planning on doing a 5k mile oil change interval this time, but I had a long trip for work coming up and wasn't sure when the next time I would be able to change it would be, so I changed it early. Nothing exciting in the report... which is good I guess. I'll...

Oil Analysis thread (post yours up!)

I went ahead and sent Blackstone Labs an email regarding the size of their database. This is the response... Thanks for the e-mail. Our entire database contains over 500,000 samples, though we are kind of light on the Ford 6.2L since it is so new. Right now, we only have 16 samples in the...

Oil Analysis thread (post yours up!)

If you want to know how big their database is, I would email them. They seem to be really good about taking care of their customers. They appear to be a fairly popular source for oil analysis, so I would like to think that they have a decent sized database, although I'm sure it takes time to...

Oil Analysis thread (post yours up!)

I just got my report from my third oil change. I probably won't run to 6k miles on this oil as he recommends though... maybe I'll go to 5k.

    Never wax again!!!!!!!! Really

I've been looking at that stuff for a while now. Did you apply it yourself or have a professional detailer do it? It doesn't look very difficult to apply, but I would want to make sure any paint correction needed is done before it's applied.

So, What did you have to do to get YOUR Raptor?

I just had to convince my company president that it would make a perfect work truck. After my initial down payment, the amount the company pays me to use my truck for work more than covers my monthly payment... and they cover fuel... and maintenance. I can't complain.

You can get a free test kit from Blackstone Labs. It costs $25 if you do a single test. Or you can buy in bulk (I bought a 6 pack) and they cost $19 each. You can also choose to pay for your shipping in advance ($2.29 for postage), so the packages come ready to drop in the mail when you're...
