I lemoned a Trailblazer back in 2001 in OH. It was an absolute pain in the a$$. I was told that to lemon you had to meet one out of four presumptions. 1. Same safety issue fixed 5 or more times, 2. More than 6x's for same issue, 3. Out of service for more than 30 days, 4. More than three...
I did the four day trip a few years back for work (yeah work!). It was San Diego – Estero Beach – San Felipe – Mike Sky Ranch – San Diego. It was a blast and great way to see Mexico. When they said they give you enough rope to hang yourself, they mean it.
Do you do anything spectacular as...
You are partially right. As the viscosity increases, the shocks are stiffer (not slower to react). This translates into a rougher ride. The noise is probably coming from your mounting (top mount and/or lower bushing). Couple that with cold temperatures affecting the stiffness of the rubber...
Yes. Shocks are temperature sensitive. Two things will happen. The first the oil thickens and contracts. IF there isn't enough oil volume in the shock, it could cause travel issues. Second, the gas force in the shock will drop because the oil contracts and the pressure drop due to the lower...
Did you mount the external remote facing forward? I hope you have something protecting the Schrader valve (difficult to see). Otherwise, something could hit it and you'd lose your gas pressure.
If I remember correctly from a previous life, that is a Ford jounce bumper. The only concern with swapping out for a different one would be the engagement of the bumper. It could affect your ride. Doesn't Ford offer anything or anything other than jounce shocks available in aftermarket?
I find it similar to arm wrestling. From my past experience, I always end up straining/pulling something that prevented me from really hitting it hard in the gym for the next few months. Guess I'm just older and wiser.
