GEN 2 Tonneau Cover

I should have my bakflip HD Monday. Anyone else have one installed on a 17 Ford Raptor yet?

I have the Bak revolver X2 and don't seem to have the problems the other poster above mentioned. The rubber seals on the top I used my heat gun and worked them out smooth. No leaks inside the bed. My tailgate also drops very easily while using the key fob. It is sometimes difficult to get it closed, but I just watch the locking pins and go nice and easy to get them to latch. My really only gripe is closing the tailgate I have to slightly lift up on the X2 to get it to close. This could be my own installer error however, as it doesn't bother me that much. The rest of the cover is solid and I think it was a great purchase along with my bedrug. My 4yr old loves to hang out in the back of my truck bed.

After having great luck with my LoPro from Truxedo on my 2500 denali, I decided to give the Truxedo Titanium a shot on my Raptor. I went to install last night but hit a snag. It seems as though the cover is a BIT too wide. On the drivers side the cover is sitting onto the frame rail nice and snug...as it should:


But on the drivers side its too wide to fit down onto the rail:



Looks like a phone call to tuxedo is in order to see whats going on. =(

On the bright side....the cover itself looks awesome and is great quality.

Disregard pretty much my whole post....my issues were due to user error. My rails were mounted a tad too low causing them to poke-in a bit. Now that I raised them up the cover fits like a glove!

lnstalled my Peragon cover and so far I am very happy with it. Fit and finish is excellent, and all stainless hardware makes for a no-drill install. One man, 90 minutes start to finish. Their install videos are top notch.

Recommend the optional a) stainless hardware kit b) tailgate seal kit c) no drill clamp kit.

I looked at those too, but that's the one where each panel drops down as you "retract" it, yes? Kinda like an accordion? If you had something in the bed that was as high as the panels are long (when they drop to retract) then you wouldn't be able to retract the cover. Looks good though!

The panels only fold up front near the cab. See the pics below - those stainless brackets you see near the cab - that's what causes the retracting panels to change direction and fold down. Yes, if you have big items right up near the cab the panels won't fold, but every where else in the bed, there should be no problem as the panels just slide/retract over the top.

Returned the X2; not a good solution, and got the MX4.

Finally got the MX4 dialed in, after a few attempts to correct the rail angle. Removed shims as per Bak rep. Had to go to a Hell and Bak though...literally. ;-). They were great and took care of my install issues.

The Raptors bed, like all the 150's, really only needs a 1/16" shim. The 1/8" shim that's preinstalled is way too thick and results in the rails being forced down and onward too much (see attached picture). I hope they make this the standard since,,,,uh,,,the 150 is only the best selling vehicle...so I'm pretty sure they are all the same.

I also had to get the complete latch assembly replaced on the last panel since the cables were too tight and the latches wouldn't engage.

Note how much angle the pre-installed 1/8" shims create...not good.

Fold-a-Cover

What canister are you using with your RetraxPRO Mx?
