5 star tune has entered into a discussion with me about this problem. They are wondering if anyone has the electronic tuner tool - SCT x4 - to test out some tunes that specifically go after the lack of engine braking under crawling, steep grade cases. Anybody have one of these ?

I have asked a buddy of mine to try to get a message to Ford engineering on this. Since the Raptor is their Premium truck, I am hoping they will at least listen. I suspect that when programming this truck for the desert they didn't really encounter mountain type long down hill grades that are...

Thank you for the input ! I did not purchase a tune yet because I don't want to spend that money and not fix anything... no company seemed to be interested in committing to fixing the concern if it took extra work... and I ain't mad.. I get it.

I just want to bump this post back into everyone's mind. I have taken zero steps to resolve.. it all costs $$ !!

Have any of my fellow Raptor owners that have stated here that they are having the same issue gotten any resolution ? WIth Christmas, I have not been able to purchase a tune.

Thank you for the input ! We stopped many times for all sorts of things,, pics, bathroom, lunch, general gawking at the beautiful scenery.. The truck was shut off and restarted many times throughout the days and please keep in mind that we hit the trails 2 days in a row and the truck...

Thank you so much for your reply that lets me know I am not alone on this and that my truck is not technically broken !! Thank you so much ! I experienced a little of that "cruise control" action too. I am hoping that we can find a tuner that can address these issues... my truck totally...

I think this is a good thought and good input.. In my mind if the converter unlocks and the truck's forward speed increases due to that I am not sure the engine RPM would increase as crisply at this does.. I envision it kind of coasting forward in that case.. but that is just me...
