They are same lenght.
I believe it's the way the suspension geimetry was designed that allows the shocks to travel one inch further.
Physically, they have sane lenght.
At first I was looking for the 2017 / 18 Shocks with no valves. I contacted a dozen of Ford Parts local stores and online. Nothing !
That's when I decided to start looking for the 2019 / 20 Live Valve Shocks.
I found them at one of the places where I did find a brand new set, the guy asked me...
Yes, these are the part numbers:
Front Shocks: ( 37" Package ):
Right: ML3V18B060
Left: ML3V18B061
Front Springs: ( 37" Package )
Left and Right are exact same: ML3V-5310-AC
Rear Shocks: ( 35" )
Rear Right: ML3V18W002
Rear Left: ML3V18W003
I have the fronts from a 37" Package Gen 3 so they have the exact same travel ( 13 inch ) same as the original Gen 2
The rears are from a 35" Gen 3 and their lengths are identical to my original Gen 2 rear shocks.
Now the question is: How do these new shocks reach more travel ( 15 inches )...
I
I don't see why not. Yes, they are black but it's still a solenoid, it's exactly the same connectors. I've seen some pictures showing the internal Live Valve, I cant see any difference. I will try to add some pictures...
The Gen 3 Live valve system is now 10 times faster but that's on...
Yes, The E-Clik system is the best I have found so far but it's a little over my budget at the moment. So I'm still trying to find a different route to use these Live Valves. Maybe a manual adjuster knob or something...
We will eventually make the Live Valve option work again, that's our...
I forgot to mention this:
The front struts original top mounting 3 nuts did not fit the new GEN 3 Struts so I had to get 3 new nuts which were a little bigger for both sides.
Beside that, everything went smooth. The lower control arm is maybe different on the GEN 3 but the strut went in...
Today I installed a brand new set of Front and rear Live Valve shocks 3.1 from the Gen 3 on my 2017 Raptor.
I bought a complete set with the front springs.
The ride feels a lot firmer than how it was before with the stock suspension.
The front feels perfect, it is not too hard. The rear feels...
I have a new set of GEN3 Live Valve Shocks that I'm planning to install on my 2017 Raptor.
It will be interesting to see if they will even fit, give any lift, be any stiffer... etc
Wow ! 146 lbs difference ! When you check the tire weight difference between the 35" and 37" they are only 2 lbs x 5 tires = 10 lbs. The wheels should be about the same. Where is that 136 lbs difference coming from ?
I dont think the 37 package shocks and springs are identical to the 35 package in terms of height.
The difference between a 37 tire and a 35 is only 1 inch on top and one inch on bottom.
