    For those running Ford beadlocks

I didn't see in the Ford document describing the installation of bead lock rings where it mentions any state law regarding the legality of bead locks. I think Ford's comments about offroad use is to cover their butt. may want to read this again...

    stupid shock question

I picked up a tank of nitrogen from my local welding supply shop for $17 with tank exchange. About the size of a scuba tank. You'll need a control valve and hose to go along.

    Really ferd? no bead lock?

couldn't find any laws against using bead lock rims on the highway. they're just not DOT approved. Not all accessories you put on your vehicle are DOT approved. Curious, when chip foose CNC's a custom rim, is it DOT approved? interesting short read...

Rear locker in 2h - possible to program in?

The Gen 1 locker does NOT disengage at 20 MPH as long as the Offroad mode is engaged. If offroad mode is not engaged, it turns off at 35 MPH. Is the Gen 2 and/or Gen 3 different?

    Raptoring in Sand

if you park on a slope, park so you're pointed in the direction you're eventually going to go. On dunes you can't see the downward side, drive the dune in a big arc and have the passenger look out the window at the down hill side. If it's safe, drop your front over the peak and enjoy the...

    Drivers mirror glass

for mineral water spots, look for a glass polish instead of glass cleaner. I've had good luck with a Griot's product: https://www.griotsgarage.com/product/fine+glass+polish+16+ounces.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=Search

    POLICE got me again......

I used to get police supply catalogs. Always remember one of the products was a "tint-o-meter" used to measure the darkness of window tint. In the description of the product they mention "Perfect for that probable cause stop".

    Newb Question: S-cab vs. S-crew?

The scab is better off road. I've owned both. About 1/10th the number of scabs compared to screws are produced so it's not as common to see a scab. I did like the full size rear doors and fuel capacity of the screw but those factors weren't as important as off road performance...for me anyway.

Winches?! Who has one? What do you think?

a winch is pretty handy. Not sure if Gen 2s have the mount location behind the bumper. Have used it several times but always to recover someone else. Here we are pulling a Mercedes G-wagon off the slope before we use the winch to roll it back on its wheels.

    Question #25: CB/Ham Radio Operators

I've been happy with a Yaesu FT-8800R/E Dual band radio. Radio is mounted on the floor under the back seat. Removable radio head is mounted on a flexible stalk attached to the passenger seat floor mount. Antenna is mounted to the bed cage. Power and antenna wires pass through a vent...

Kenwood TK 790H VHF radio install remote head and speaker (lots of pics)

another option for mounting a speaker that doesn't involve any mods. Is also nice as it pivots 180 degrees so I can point it out the back window when I'm outside the truck. Used some .5" chrome tubing and utilized the center headrest mount. Speaker just happened to be exactly the right width...
