Bill to fix the whine in my 2018 transmission was a little over $6,000. New pump and new pump gears plus the labor. I plan to get an extended warranty also now that I decided to stick with the truck.

Update/Fix: Transmission Pump gears were changed and the noise has been reduced by I’d say 85-90% I really have to try and hear it with my head under the truck and even still it’s hard to hear. Per the Ford 10r80 transmission engineering the pump gears will have a slight but unnoticeable...

I turned it off and it completely changed the cabin to me, I like the truck so much more with it off. Seems more refined, it was annoying to give it gas with that sound on. Turn it off and see. The highway ride and music all sounds better with that crap off from my perspective I was surprised.

Update..... They got the new transmission pump and module put on my truck...... the noise is still there, back to the engineers they go. Great start to my weekend. Being stuck in a Ford Escape indefinitely sucks, dosent help that this ones interior was smoked in previously and smells...

They confirmed just now that it was the transmission making the whine noise but don’t know exactly what it is as they’ve never seen/heard this before. They want to reach out to ford and reschedule another drop off date to dig into it further.
