    Brake pad Gen 2

This is my understanding of Ford parts (brakes), please correct me if I am wrong. Ford develops a brake pad recipe specifically for each vehicle according to it's intended use. Last I heard it was over 126 different recipes. They work very well, don't dust the wheels very much, and are very...

    Brake pad Gen 2

I'm going on my 4th set of factory pads, replaced the rotors twice, also on my third set of tires (47k miles). I live in the mountains, one way is 45 miles, and the road is very fun to drive, I drive my Raptor like a sports car. Usually I start getting brake fade about 35 miles down. I...

    Soft Brake Pedal

Might help to run an ABS Bleed also, if you can get a scan tool it's pretty easy, if not get the truck up off the ground run it in 4wd, apply the brakes, this should activate the ABS. After that, do a complete system bleed. I have done this on several Ford trucks, I bled the base brakes, then...

    Tailgate?

I used it to open the tailgate when the electric motor stopped working. Had to make a tool to get in there to access the mechanical part of the release assembly. The tool looks like a distributor wrench. I keep it in the truck in case it ever fails again.

    Custom Wilwood Big Brake Kit

Pretty sure if any company really thought it would be do-able, they would have done it already.

Deaver with Eibach or SVC Coil Adjustment System

I finally saw a video on Youtube that showed a guy putting Eibachs in with the SVC adjusters. After all was said and done he head the adjusters backed all the way down and the front was sitting a little higher than the rear with +3 Deavers (2" block removed). I always thought I wanted the...

    Custom Wilwood Big Brake Kit

My apologies, I did not relay my thoughts correctly. The rotors need to transfer the heat out of themselves. The brake pads / backing plates and caliper pistons should isolate the heat from getting to the caliper and brake fluid. The idea behind the floating rotors are to allow the rotor to...

    Custom Wilwood Big Brake Kit

Yes, Thank you. Now I would really like to hear your thoughts on "rotors aren't there to cool anything". I am always open to new information.

    Custom Wilwood Big Brake Kit

nikhsub1, No disrespect meant here, but rotors do remove the heat made from friction. Have you noticed that the centers have passages for air to go though? You may also notice on some rotors, they are set up to create a low pressure area on the inside to "pull" air through the rotor for...

    Custom Wilwood Big Brake Kit

Only interested if they use thick rotors to transfer heat, have replaceable floating rotors / separate from hat, but still fit inside 17" wheels. I don't need more clamping power, just way better heat disapation.

Need advice on trans issue failure. Truck at dealership for unknow amount of time.

Ask them to do a "Cost Cap" and submit it to Ford. Also ask them what Ford says regarding costs to rebuild vs replace. GET THE NUMBERS from them, no numbers = they didn't do it.

Upfitter/pass thru wire screw up argh

MAMiller44, This information was extremely helpful. Thank you very much for providing, clear concise information on this subject. I used this information to run wiring out to the bed of my truck for some cage lights. I used an upfitter switch, the switched wires under the hood, connected one of...
