Yes I’ve always done the majority of the work on my vehicles but those were of the 2001 and 2002 variety. Things sure have changed in 20 years lol. No way I would attempt a phaser job. Hell, I’m not even sure I have the ability to do spark plugs on this thing . The engines these days are tucked...
Finally got the truck back a couple days ago. It ran fine for about 5 miles before it blew the cac pipe off the intercooler. That sure is an interesting sound/feeling. I drove back and had them secure that pipe and double check all other intake fittings. They found a brake booster coupler loose...
I got a call today from Ford. They said my dealer tech diagnosed it as a bad timing chain tensioner on the driver side. They will be replacing all timing components on that side of the engine including the solenoids.
On a side note, last week they offered me a prepaid service plan to cover all...

I just ran to the store and when I came back out it made the noise again. I took a pry bar and used it as a stethoscope and the noise is for sure coming from the driver side of the timing chain cover.

I’d also like to know how the trucks been running since.
I’m having the exact same problem. Cam phasers replaced 12/17/21. Parked truck after picking it up that night and started it roughly an hour later to run an errand and it is making a god awful clicking/ticking/ratcheting noise. It appears...
