They emailed me about a month ago saying the new unit I ordered would ship in a couple months or they could send me an android 9 unit now. I chose to wait.

Mostly because I understand there is likely nothing Phoenix can do about it. I assume the delay is probably due to the chip shortage and pandemic. I doubt these units are very high on chip manufacturers’ priority list.

I’m sure with the wuflu restrictions around the world and chip shortage whatever factory these are made in is super low priority for components.

I had the same problem. If I remember correctly I had to use a usb2 drive. It wouldn’t see my usb3 drive.

You can get an app from Phoenix that lets you wireless CarPlay to the tablet I think.

Venting to the motherboard seems like a good update. I’ve had issues in the past that I suspect were due to overheating.

I’m on Sergey’s firmware and have the old audio not switching to the tablet issue. Still need to try playing an mp3 from usb before I try pulling the battery cable to reset things. Other than that it’s been much better.

Traded my 12 in on a 19 and haven’t regretted it once. Love gen 1’s but the gen 2 is a different animal. I missed the V8 sound for a bit but the gen 2 is snappier and now I appreciate that turbo whistle. Only mods I had were a CAI and tune. Although my 12 had 99k on it so it was time.

I think with mine the biggest inconsistency is what it does after boot. Sometimes it goes back where I had it last. Sometimes it plays the same station but stays on the home screen instead of going to console. And then if I launch console it changes to AM or FM. Sometimes it just boots to AM or...

Yeah even with Russian firmware. It’s probably a limitation of the 8.1 model. I’m not saying the Android 9 model would fix the issue. It just has fast boot.
