These are the AFE's if I'm not mistaken
as pointed out above, they probably improve the sound somewhat but not as much as Ford's new exhaust that probably had more engineering put into it.
there's a thread somewhere right on this forum about the AFE equal length downpipe. If I remember right some people said it sounded better but others didn't feel like there was much of a difference. Plus there's a video from AFE out there.
As a fellow sport compact owner/tuner I'm fairly entertained by your comments on intercooler locations. I was lobbying earlier for FMIC and BMIC for the Raptors because, yes, it's true, the names are mostly arbitrary. For example on Subarus a FMIC is not only in front of the radiator, but also...
why would Raptor's, or Ecoboost applications in general, have issues with condensation and where in the truck does this condensation occur? There are of course tens of models of other turbocharged and intercooled cars in cold climates that don't have shutters and that I've never heard of them...
Of course you are right - I was just joking, except that if you're just practicing or playing around or doing any of the desert races in the sw US, then you would be able to get E85 because there are places that sell it there (although would you really use a Raptor unless you were the one team...
I'm reveling in the irony here. Coming from serious tuning of Subarus it's interesting to see everyone go through the same learning curve. For example, the WRX and STI used to share the same block, the EJ25, that was used in the cheapest non-turbo Imprezas and Outbacks, and the forged and...
What limited you- did you run out of flow on the turbos or were cylinder temperatures getting too high or something else? Also, what does a stock Raptor make on that dyno? Did you see any difference in lag compared to stock?
I always love how people get on threads like this to tell the OP he's wrong/dumb/wasting his time. Isn't that up to the OP to decide? Are you really helping the OP move the discussion forward any? If you're racing, or even driving for fun and you have the money, go for it. Every pound...
