These are the AFE's if I'm not mistaken
as pointed out above, they probably improve the sound somewhat but not as much as Ford's new exhaust that probably had more engineering put into it.
there's a thread somewhere right on this forum about the AFE equal length downpipe. If I remember right some people said it sounded better but others didn't feel like there was much of a difference. Plus there's a video from AFE out there.
As a fellow sport compact owner/tuner I'm fairly entertained by your comments on intercooler locations. I was lobbying earlier for FMIC and BMIC for the Raptors because, yes, it's true, the names are mostly arbitrary. For example on Subarus a FMIC is not only in front of the radiator, but also...
why would Raptor's, or Ecoboost applications in general, have issues with condensation and where in the truck does this condensation occur? There are of course tens of models of other turbocharged and intercooled cars in cold climates that don't have shutters and that I've never heard of them...
Of course you are right - I was just joking, except that if you're just practicing or playing around or doing any of the desert races in the sw US, then you would be able to get E85 because there are places that sell it there (although would you really use a Raptor unless you were the one team...
I'm reveling in the irony here. Coming from serious tuning of Subarus it's interesting to see everyone go through the same learning curve. For example, the WRX and STI used to share the same block, the EJ25, that was used in the cheapest non-turbo Imprezas and Outbacks, and the forged and...
What limited you- did you run out of flow on the turbos or were cylinder temperatures getting too high or something else? Also, what does a stock Raptor make on that dyno? Did you see any difference in lag compared to stock?
I always love how people get on threads like this to tell the OP he's wrong/dumb/wasting his time. Isn't that up to the OP to decide? Are you really helping the OP move the discussion forward any? If you're racing, or even driving for fun and you have the money, go for it. Every pound...
I also don't get the low whp from this tune. Stock truck at 450 crank nets about 380 whp on Cobb's dynos and their stage 2, which is just intake and intercooler, gets 470 whp. I understand changing out the turbo-back exhause piping and turbo intake piping doesn't get you much more, maybe 490...
also subscribing for the same question. Also have a tuned Subaru with Perrin's equal length header and it completely changed the sound of the car. It went from sounded like a a boxer to more of a de-tuned Formula 1 engine. At full howl it's one of the better sounding engines I've ever heard...
Bumping an old thread- anyone know of any locations in MD or northern VA? I know places in western MD, and lots in WV, but would like to find something small closer to home.
When I bought my 19 I spoke to a number of shops, including RPG (above), Fox themselves, Cobb, and a shop here in MD (I need to look up the name). The consensus was that Ford did all the programming for the module (SSM) that controls the live valve, they haven't shared it with anyone, including...
I researched this a bit across various Ford forums, including forums for other Ford vehicles that use the Sync3 module. From what I could gather it was going to be a seriously hard hack to get simply a front camera implemented, but you should be able to turn on the 360 system if you buy all the...
first thing first- this is the suspension discussion for the 2nd generation truck. You should re-post your questions in the Gen 1 suspension section and delete this post. Sorry I don't have the answer on your issue though but the folks there should be able to help you out.
Ok, I really don't think the steering ratio is variable. I've found a ford specification sheet for the 2019 Raptor and it says that is is "variable power assist" with a ratio of 17.1:1, so I think it's fixed ratio. Still working on learning more about the steering control module.
ok, do you know which module the raptor has that controls this? Possible names for it from the forscan capability list include:
- Electronic-Controlled Power Steering (EPS)
- Power Steering Control Module (PSCM)
- Steering Effort Control Module (SECM)
- Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS)...
True, but I also haven't (yet) found any Forscan settings that let me change the steering or suspension (shock) settings independently of the ride mode selection. If there was i would try softening the shock setting to match the setting used in Baja or something like that and see how that felt...
I have an 800A too. It's been difficult to find info on them. So far just turned off the fake engine noise using Forscan and started installing better speakers. Turning off the noise was a huge improvement- I highly recommend it. After some digging it seems the head unit in the 2019 800A is...
