    Gen 2 Question

I put 27k miles on my 2018 the first year of ownership, mostly work related and quite a bit off-road in NWPA & UPNY. Other than the cam phasers eventually crapping out last year, it’s been trouble-free.

    Brake pad Gen 2

I have Powerstop’s on my ‘08 F-350 6.4L and have no complaints so when I need to do the brakes on the Raptor, I’ll go with them.

Percentage of raptor owners that actually really use their trucks

Your gig sounds like a lot more fun than mine! I'm out there dealing with tower monkeys but at least they're the salt of the earth types, easy to deal with, and hard-working guys.

Percentage of raptor owners that actually really use their trucks

I put over 27k mile on mine for work, it's been my office in the field doing wireless telecom work.

I have Fuel Covert's on mine.

Issues if not fixing cam phasers?

Mine rattles on a cold start but that hasn't bothered me, bogging down while trying to pull out into traffic with zero power is bothering me. The truck has done it several times in the past week - cam phasers?

    New Owner

Another Ruby Red '18, awesome! Odd noise, mine doesn't do that with 30k on it.

How did you come to afford your raptor?

I've worked in the Wireless Telecommunications industry since 2001 and have steadily progressed with respect to my income. Back in 2018, I took on a new position as a Construction Manager and realized that my old Super Duty wasn't up to the task of weekly fieldwork - the mileage was too much...

    Dealer cleaning and sterilization

Nothing that I am aware of and I didn't expect them to do anything special, it was frustrating enough having to wear a useless cloth mask.

Question #11: So what is it gonna be, Crazy?

About time you pulled the trigger - congrats!

Gen 2 is a classic and I will keep mine forever

If I can find employment in the next month, I intend to keep it until the wheels fall off (and rebuild it). I have no desire to own an electric anything so the Raptor is a keeper.

Coolant “at temp” immediately at startup

Mine is stone-cold, takes a few miles to get up to operating temperature. And the OP's secret is safe with us....sort of.

Donut Media FINALLY did an episode on the Raptor

I watched about a quarter of it and after having to endure FOUR ads up to that point, I closed it.

    35x12.5x17

I went with the Yokohama Geolander MT's in 35x12.5.17, Load Range E and yes, they are louder as one would expect. The truck isn't as sure-footed as it was with the stock KO2's which did admirably well in every condition I put them through - mud, snow/ice - accessing cell towers. I haven't...

Wrench Symbol & 9 Codes "Offroading" - What did I do wrong?

I've driven off-road numerous times for work in Sport mode and have experienced no issues. I live in PA so it's always mountain gravel/dirt/mud (and snow-covered) access roads to cell towers but I also don't drive aggressively since I'm typically over 100 miles from home. I agree with...
