just researching for this simple mod...

Just wondering if anyone has used a clear plastic adhesion promoter? Like one of these to help reduce/eliminate chipping/flaking problems down the road:

SEM 39863

SEM 77723

DupliColor CP199

Automotive Touchup

That Testors Pactra looks like a good option...except I don't have one of the little sprayers. But might be a good excuse to get one.

I did my third (twice now) and the first power wash I had chips and flakes. Looking for a more permanent solution.

4 coats of VHT! Can you even see the cargo lights?

Also, do you remove the lens from the truck or just tape it off with a bunch of newspaper?

Also, are you sanding or wetsanding between coats or just doing a cleaning and wipe down?

I used 2 heavy coats of VHT and 4 light coats of clear. Yes, I can see the cargo lights (barely). Did it on the truck, Dawson (RaptorRetrofit) sells them, so he does them off the truck. I sanded mine before starting. About 15min between coats so no sanding between coats.

pm Dawson for pricing, I bet he can do it for less time and money than doing it yourself.
