This is news to me also. I thought the ring was NOT removable.

Does the Double standard have a removable ring? I thought the bolts were just installed into the lip of the rim with no ring to remove.

The is NOT removable, the bolts are. The bolt head is a 13mm. Takes about 20-30 minutes to pull them all out. Just make sure you use a dab of anti-seize when re-installing them.
