static on bluetooth phone

This started a while ago , used to work fine. As i talk the static builds to the point i cant hear anything. Ive deleted the phone and re-paired it , n o change. Any ideas.

Have you tried doing a factory reset on the head unit? Does your phone work normally with other bluetooth accessories like speakers / headphones?
