I agree @TheWolf that you are better doing it yourself to ensure the best results. The main thing is just preping the area. Removing as much rust as possible and cleaning the area of dirt and oil. For a good undercoating is por 15 its like tar to spread but hardens like a rock. JMO

Hey guys, this is coming from north western ontario and this will be my first full winter with my raptor and i was planning to get it rust check'd. Typically, what time of the year should i get rust check if i want to maximize its results, and i was told they have two options of oil, one being the normal oil/mixture and the other being a thicker kind of gel. Does anyone here have any experience with this and if so, what is the best option when prepping your truck for the long salty winter. I want to keep it rust free as long as possible :) I know its still summer but winter comes fast here in Canada lol. Cheers.

Yea just to piggyback what the other members have said... Use the Amsoil HDMP. I used it last year on my Raptor and it held up great. I used four bottles when I did my undercoat and I literally sprayed every square inch of the underneath of my truck, and I don't have rust on my receiver hitch or anything underneath my truck. I would highly recommend that if you have the stock rear bumper to spray the inside of that because that will rust out. Most people don't think about it, but since it's caved in the chemicals or salt kicking up from your rear tires will get it in there and you'll have a rust problem. Also this stuff is highly flammable so I would be careful with any spraying you do on the front end of your truck by your engine!

Hey guys just opening this thread up again. A few questions. I am going to apply the Amsoil HDMP. My question is when applying a second coat how long should you wait and do you try to strip the first coat before applying the second or just spray everything with water then re apply. Thanks

Living close to the ocean, I noticed some rust when the wheels were rotated.
I think I'll go with the Amsoil HDMP.

Is there a supporting vendor on FRF, or is it best to buy from the factory?
I would guess Autozone doesn't carry it.

Thanks...

The Amsoil HDMP is the way to go! You can also become a dealer with them and get it sent directly to you...That's what I did and it was a great way to do it...I can't remember how much it was, since it was a few years ago, but I remember it was definitely worth the small price! I ordered about 15 cans, but only used about 4 to do the first coat on the truck.

Someone else mentioned a second coat...Just clean it up and shoot any later coats over what's already there and get some build-up. I did one coat over 2 years ago after getting the truck and it still looks awesome underneath! I'm getting ready to freshen it up with a new coat soon!
