Just thinking out loud, in leu of cutting the speaker completely out of the cluster as demonstrated last year, i.e. no sound, I wonder if we could reduce the volume by reducing the voltage to the speaker with an in-line resistor?
Assuming you can get to the speaker, if you put a resistor of equal value to the speaker inline, it will reduce the volume by 1/2. I haven't found it yet, but there was a thread that showed removing the speaker completely. That might give an idea of whether the juice is worth the squeeze.
I couldn't stand the loud key in ignition chime when door was open so I cut a wire under the dash and silenced it. There was a thread telling which wire to cut. Maybe you could do the same for the blinkers?
