Been using wrong PS Fluid!

Are the steering racks and pumps the same for all years? If so, I expect that either V or LV could be used.


You are probably right but considering how these fail, I sure don't want to be denied a warranty claim because I failed to use the proper fluid as stated in the owners manual.

My question was more about the damage of mixing the two.

Another question since I will be going to AMSOIL ATF synthetic will there be any issue if there is any left over regular ATF?

2010 6.2L:

Pump - AL3Z-3A674-BRM
Rack (SCAB) - AL3Z-3504-ARM

2014:
Pump - BL3Z-3A696-A - Also fits '12 and '13
Rack (SCAB) - CL3Z-3504-A - Also fits '12 and '13

Is this why you needed a new frame? Couldn't turn it easy enough?

I should note that I think '12 is when they switched from V to LV.

What about the 11 Screw I am getting ready to install the PSS res and cooler and thought I should flush with new since I have almost 80,000 miles. What the hell fluid do I need? This is all to confusing I need a drink.

It's in the raptor supplement for your owners manual, you can also get that from http://owner.ford.com

Thinking of just upgrading to the Howe kit that freedom motorsports has. I've already gone through 3 and on my 4th power steering, might as well just upgrade at this point
