There is another kit coming out early next year that will allow you to use a standard double din stereo. That Alpine unit is cool but $3000 is a joke. It will look like this.

It's a vendor that's on the f150 forum. All he's saying is early next year. Doesn't want to give a price yet which means it probably won't be cheap.

Has anyone ran this Alpine? I want to get rid of the factory amp. It seems that the amp really hinders aftermarket systems.

Any news from Alpine on the FD2 radios for the 801A packages at Cnet anyone? I see they have some big announcements on Apple Car play but no news on Ford head units that I can see?

non lux package for the truck. the 801a has the nav, heated seats, power tilt wheel, etc...... the 800 doesnt include that and is the base model

Got it...I have a 2011 with the stock audio system, so now I am interested in this thread and the topic of ways to enhance the audio system...
