I was wondering if anyone knew what parts I can put in the raptor to help out with fuel economy. I kinda want it to be at 20 mpg or better. If i can't get it that close, oh well. Oh, price really isn't an issue, but i would like to keep it under 2 grand.

thanks again

Trade it in on a Ranger. You should come out money ahead!!:birgits_tiredcoffee

Spend the 2 grand on gas cuz it's gonna be impossible to get 20mpg or even close to that without an engine swap.

It needs to go on a diet and tuned lean then a little help drafting or a very strong tail wind.

Won't happen. Skinny light weight wheels and tires, long tubes and high flow cats, tuning, and only drive downhill with a tail wind.

I didn't buy it to get 20 - hell I'm happy w/15. It's a truck

have somebody tow you around :)

To get 20 MPG from a Raptor you need to get an exemption from the laws of physics.

I'm not sure why you all say this I got 19 driving 70. stick to 55 and the things I said above and I think it can be done.

with 1400 miles on the clock, I still can't get over 12.1 mpg and thats just driving average with a lot of highway miles...........sucks but was expected.

HAHAHAHHAH!!!

Good mileage in a Raptor! What the ****!:supergay:

On a more serious note -- I am running pure 100% gasoline with no Ethanol on this tank. It seems that I can get anywhere from 18mpg to 12mpg depending on how I am driving.

I totally did a scientific experiment yesterday driving the speed limit and not exceeding 2,000 RPM's when taking off from stop lights. I got about 18mpg averaged.

I then drove back home the same route driving a little more aggressively than usual and I got 12mpg.

Sure, I got better mileage driving slow and grandma-like, but I had more fun the other time.

I've done this before too. It can be done but its boring at crap. I would rather blow people off the road as I pass them and lose a little mpg then cruise at 60 the whole time. Plus I have the 5.4 so even driving hard I average 15 or better.

Does the CAI and the Tuner add that much better? I have been contemplating on buying one...

I seriously was getting around 10.5 to 11 mpg doing my everyday driving routine, and with the CAI and 5Star Tune I've been getting 12 to 12.5 mpg.
It might not be a lot but it adds up, an extra 25 to 30 miles per tank still goes a long way. Mind you I'm NOT driving like a Grandma so I could get better. I do a lot of stop light to stop light and idling driving.
