(Probably) Dumb relay question

Do they always draw current if they're wired directly to the battery? And how much? I've got my bedlites hooked to a 5-pin relay (post 30 wired directly to the battery) and my battery will drain if I let it sit longer than about 5 days.

how is the relay wired? 85, 86, 87, and 87a?

Yes, ground 85; switch 86; light-1 87; light-2 87a

it should only draw current if 85 and 86 have power and ground. if signal is missing on either side, then it will not draw current, unless you have a bad relay.

87a is a normally closed circuit. So when relay is off 87a should be hot at all times
