After a long discussion today about how much my truck weighs with all my gear for off-roading and the modifications.

So here are my results.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410486488.883523.jpg
This one was done with out me being evenly spread across the scale pads.

This is with my full offroad gear, luggage, co driver, 2 spare tires, an extra 8 gallons of gas , And 4 gallons of water, with a half tank of gas.

This was done earlier with my truck spread evenly across the pads. It also has my full offroad gear, 8 gals of gas, 4 gals of water, 2 spares, full tank of fuel, driver and co driver no luggage.

Given that the GVWR of the screw is 7450lbs this is way heavier than the government wants.

So here are some questions for discussion.

What is this doing to our trucks offroad?
Are these results typical?
Ways to lighten load ( except the obvious loose the co pilot or human weight)
Do we have too much stuff?
Are the offroad packs overly prepared? (I will post my offroad pack info a bit later when I get a bit more time)

I ask others to post there results from a certified scale. List the info about the modifications/offroad gear, and other items that effect the weight.

Good info. Have never taken mine to a scale. Given the amount of gear I carry I would expect similar numbers. Hopefully you get some numbers from others and some thoughts on what if any effect the additional weight might have. So far the only concern I had was what would happen to stock springs. They held up for me but still replaced them with the Deavers.

Agreed I am running the Deaver +3 springs because I expected part of this. But what about the forces applied to the axel/axel housings during a jump at these weights.

I wouldn't of even guessed that high. I'm gonna have to weigh mine when I load up for havoc. Curious now

Holy snap. I'll try and find a scale over here and weigh a full tank screw so we have a baseline

Shipping weight of just my truck was 5823...even with me and a few hundred pounds of gear + the added weight of the screw I don't know how you could get up that high. My CC powerstroke weighs in at 8400

Yeah gotta agree, those numbers sure seem to be a bit high. I've got an F-350 that comes on around 11K and it is tooled up w/ a 40 gal aft axle fuel tank.

Or 6,838 pounds.

Full tank of gas 36 x 6.4 = 230
Me in uniform 210
Spare in bed
Offroad box 80
Bakflip fibermax 65
Bedrug 40
Random shit 80

Or 6,133 pounds with a completely empty stock truck.
