The R1 rotors sure just look like somebody selling a gimmick. They are coated, slotted and drilled? Drilled is BAD, cast in holes are better but will still crack. I am leaning more towards the stoptech slotted and cryo treated rotors. Slotting works to move gasses off the rotor, cryo treating stabilizes the rotor and my past experience on the racetrack says this is a much better option than foo foo rotors with decorations and not much engineering advantage that I have been able to find. R1 pads get panned pretty bad, I do not see that I personally am going to be able to spend my brake money with them. I do not want to decorate my truck, I want it to stop!
The R1 stuff seems pretty popular but looks pretty low rent to me. I am still searching for alternatives. Like I said, stoptech and EBC yellow pads are high on the list now. My search for real braking improvements on this truck without spending thousands continues. I have serious doubts that R1 can deliver what I seek. Good Luck
Over the years, I have literally sold over 500 R1 brake packages for Raptor owners specifically. Not a single customer has ever had their drillwd and slotted rotors crack. They are also waraantied for life against cracking. EBC and Stoptech don'rlt offer a lifetime warranty for anything.
Just to site the experience of a single customer. One of our customers named Matt installed his four years ago and then took his truck through every Baja 1000, Baja 500, TRR and countless werkend holiday trips with his camper and others toys, every year. He just replaced the pads back in the spring and didn't have to do anything for the old rotors to accept the new pads.
I can't say the same for my customers who have insisted on EBC, Hawk, Stoptech, powerstop or any others for that matter and we can actually sell just about all the available brands.
No "gimmick" about it.

About to replace rotors and pads with the r1 concepts, just wanted to hear from people that have done it if there was really that much of a noticeable difference I tow couple different boats and was wondering if I would really notice the difference versus just new pads on the stock rotors
Thanks
Not only will you notice a difference, the parts will last much longer.
