Why would you file with YOUR insurance and not hers? Sometimes even zero dollars claims on your own insurance is still considered a "claim". Would be better to show on hers.

Not sure what more you could of done without knowing what signs to look for but I know what you mean, human life is much more important than any material thing.

I got rear ended in my 1996 Mystic Cobra the very first day it came off the lot. I was hit by a drunk guy in an 87 IROC. I feel your pain! Glad everything is ok.

Some states require you contact your insurance first. In Illinois each party involved has to make a claim. If the other person is at fault like in this case there's no out of pocket or deductible required.

Still get a hit on your insurance record because you were involved

There's special measuring sticks that collision shops use to check if the frame of the truck "banana'd" at all and also there's a laser system that checks those things out too. They attach to the frame of the vehicle much like the wheel alignment machines. Make sure you go to the most expense collision shop you can find and tell them to bill her insurance company. They will most likely have what I'm talking about. Also get a 4 wheel alignment too. The truck could be "dog tracking" and you wouldn't even know it. And I definitely would check the right side of the cab corner. These beds are definitely capable of hitting the cab corners.

Wow. Really makes me think twice about the road rage I have. And the love affair with my truck and how I may respond initially too. Glad the truck seems to be ok. Extra prayers for the lady. Someone's mom or grandma

FYI. I have the same amp step. Bumper seems to lean a little lower on the left than the right. No major collisions or bumps off road. Only thing is my fat ass loading and unloading gear using the step. Just a heads up

That's why I have a trailer hitch and 2" ball...makes a great step!

I was rear ended pretty hard at a stop light a few months ago and immediately got out to check the damage to my truck rather than check on the girl that hit me. Luckily she was fine, but I too felt pretty ****** about my priorities afterwards. Hopefully there's not a next time, but I will try to react differently if there is. Glad you, your family, and truck are ok and hopefully the lady is too.

I was hit from behind in a valet line at a Vegas casino. I was getting my 4 year old daughter out of her car seat when the supercab door hit both of us and almost knocked me down. It was a WTF moment until I realized the Raptor had been rear ended and moved forward two feet. My first concern was my daughter, who was thankfully okay. Luckily the guy who hit me had his wife with him, she intervened and saved him a lot of grief- I was really pissed off and probably would have done something stupid.
I had a D ring recovery set up in the receiver hitch, it totally jacked up his Lexus and left my truck without a scratch!
I let it go and left him and his coolant puking Lexus in the valet line.
