Default Front tire wear problems
Hey guys i got my truck at 9,000 miles and then immediately mid perched the truck and then had it aligned at the dealership. I now have 15000 miles and i looked at my front tires and the inside of them are very choppy and wavy with uneven wear. I grabbed the tires to check my ball joints and nothing is wrong with them no play in my front end. So is this an alignment problem? ford is setting up an appointment with me but said i wont get another free alignment and i haven't done anything to my truck since then so would this not be their fault if it is an alignment problem?

any help would be appreciated

I have the same issue, it did it on low perch with stock tire and seems to be happening faster mid perch / G.Y. Duratracs. Allinment is within stock settings also all bushings and tie rods appear to be good, Maybe aftermarket upper control arms would help but not sure on that one.

If you go mid perch you do need an alignment.

Do you have aftermarket wheels? If yes are they lug centric?

Sorry I did not state that alignment was done at mid perch change and then rechecked after 6,000 and a few off road runs one of which was snoball and is within factory specs. In most cases cupping inside of front tires can be caused by to much camber but my truck is below the max factory setting.

I think an aftermarket upper control arm may help in terms of alignment and smother movement but I may be wrong on this. I dont care that much since I put 26,000 miles on the stock tires and another 20,000 out if the duratracs and each set still had more life in them when I sold them. The only thing that bugs me is that they get loud as they cup.

Maybe this is why the 6.2 calls for rotations every 7,500 miles, and the Raptor requires tire rotations every 5,000 miles.

5k rotation helps for sure, but once they are cupped they never recover
