Second, the 6R80 was not "faulty". The recall was related to an issue with the lead frame. Ford stepped up and recalled the affected vehicles to replace both the lead frames as well as update the software.</p><p></p><p><em>"The plaintiff claims that rather than cover repairs under warranty, the automaker has told consumers in at least two technical service bulletins that the “abrupt and harsh” shifting is normal."</em></p><p></p><p>I would love to see plaintiff's supporting documentation for this claim. Not familiar with that concocted term. I also didn't know there were issues with F-150 shift levers. Unless they're referring to the manual transmission version of the 10R, of course.</p><p></p><p>I've been deposed and have had to testify in court against plenty of these lowlife degenerate lawyers. They're after their next payday, nothing more. In many cases (especially California), even if plaintiff's council loses, the corporation they were suing still needs to pay the attorney fees. Meaning they have a win-win scenerio regardless of the outcome. The consumer? Not so much.</p><p></p><p>There are two possible issues you can encounter with this transmission, which is the same as any other transmission from any other manufacturer in the world...an internal manufacturing defect (repair/replace transmission unit), an electrical issue (diagnose and repair), or a software issue - in this case, earlier models built before mid 2018.
